Department Of Media

Introduction

The Media Department is considered one of the vital departments in the Faculty of Communication and Languages at Gaza University, operating at various levels. The department was established in 2006 and has since attracted a significant number of students and recruited distinguished academic staff who have worked on developing the department in scientific, technological, and administrative aspects, in comparison to other corresponding departments. The department has continued on this path and will continue to update and improve itself in the future. On the other hand, there is an overlap between the field of media and other disciplines, including political, economic, social, and administrative aspects.

The department's outputs serve both the public and private sectors, and therefore, the department cannot progress and fulfill its mission alone without collective efforts to provide an appropriate scientific, professional, technical, and administrative environment. It strives to achieve its goals in integration with other departments and faculties within the university.

 

The department distinguishes itself from other media departments in Palestinian universities as the only department that offers unique and new specializations. It awards diplomas, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees in media. Recognizing the importance of media in our present era and seeking to meet the needs of the community and serve it by graduating outstanding and academically and intellectually qualified media professionals to enhance the level of committed media performance and effect real change in the performance of media institutions, ultimately achieving the desired change in society through committed and serious media messages. In pursuit of these goals, the university has been committed to providing all the necessary requirements, including fully equipped laboratories with the latest necessary devices to graduate students armed with theoretical knowledge and practical experience, integrated with modern media technology and multimedia, known as new media.
